Would you have to legally create a "fund" for your friend so he could become a valid recipient?

Setting up a non profit is unbelievably difficult compares to most organizations due to the possibility of fraud   :(

well...I was more thinking you might be able to reach out to someone dealer to dealer wise and ask a question or put together the best point of contact for those kinds of questions to get answered...that is all...

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I spoke with a friend of mine whose son was paralyzed in a surfing accident.  She has a non-profit setup already.  She said she would accept the funds for the raffle and cut a check to my friend.  She would also provide me with the tax deductible receipts for those who purchase tickets.

I'll post more info as I get things in order.

as long as you are doing this all legally and the raffle is legitimately done t

hen i think you will get an awesome turnout for 50-$100 per ticket and then if you sell something like 500-1000 of them that would at least cover some of the costs your friend desperately needs.

i would be interested if and when you get this all sorted out and ready to go, i'm sure you will at least get around 100 people from the board here if its well advertised.

We should have the paypal site and the raffle terms and conditions posted up very soon.  I was planning on video taping the raffle drawing at GP motorcycles when we sell the minimum number of tickets.
