I just updated the whole front end worth of bolts using stainless that were on the shelf at Fastenal...I think it cost me a whopping $8.00 or so...It was like 16 bolts that included the calipers. Don't use those black ones from the hardware store....just crap!

Stopped by Fastenal today. A box of 50 runs $13.00.
They only sell them in bulk. At $13 what the heck. I bought them. Thanks.  waytogo

Must differ from location to location. I buy ones and twos at at time quite frequently. Glad you went with the stainless!

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but a 316 stainless bolt is not even near the tensile strength of a class 8.8 bolt.  In fact stainless is quite weak compared to carbon or alloy steel. 316 stainless annealed has a tensile strength of 85 KSI, where as an 8.8 carbon steel bolt has a tensile strength of 120 KSI.

and then there is titanium.....A.M. has the right idea....

6AL4V Titanium Bolts - 145 KSI tensile strength.. 160 KSI if heat treated.

Eh? Speak English man! I'm a simple gear head with no technical expertise or background.   Lips Sealed

Dunno, but the bolts I picked up are rated at 12.9 tensile strength. OEM caliper bolts I've been told are rated at 10 or 12.
