Are those fixtures UL listed? 

The reason we have it listed as "Art installation". Though, of course I overengineered it and put a bunch of safety features on it 

Another option for the light bulbs are late 19th century carbon-filament bulbs. They don't burn that hot, use relatively low energy, and will add to the look of the exposed brick and copper piping.

The only downside is the can be somewhat expensive. Here's a site that sells reproductions.

Those were my first idea, but when we saw the cost, we decided to pass for now. I think we'll eventually make the switch, they are waaay too cool.

I just have to ask ( not to rain on your parade), but if you are trying to keep costs down, why did you use copper?...that stuff ain't cheap....it is cool as hell...just not cheap...

We wanted it to look nice, and copper was perfect for the look. Even with the money spent on the copper, it came out to waaay less than buying pre manufactured fixtures. Of course if I factored in the time it took me to build it, it would be much different
