The Diavel doesn't look so bad now does it?

Diavel still looks like a dog to me....I'd be curious as to a side by side comparo of how a DesmoDevil bike handles in comparo to the Diavel...

As I've said many times the past six years -- my DesmoDevil series of bikes are "not for shy people". They usually provoke a love it -or- hate it reaction. Most diehard Ducatista dislike them. On some Ducati forums, they wanted to shoot me or hang me for desecration of their religion (ie: Ducati's). I stopped worrying about it long ago... way too many compliment or love what it built to offset the negatives.
My personal DesmoDevil is six years old, 68K+ miles (engine upgrade now), 51+ magazine features and without question had a strong influence upon Ducati then as well as today. @5 years ago there was strong discussions in Italy about engine availability for myself to build a series of these for the Hollywood crowd and the Barber Motorcycle Museum. I'm surprised and fully appreciate the compliment today that Ducati did pay attention to what I built and why. Will the Diavel be a success -- yes -- but it won't be the traditional mount of the hardcore Ducatista.
Ricky's HyperDevil iteration? Without doubt it is a full showbike due to paint, graphics and details. (anyone notice the chromed MH900E wheels!) But it is ridden on the street now and it isn't babied as most folks would think. Ricky was a Nascar Craftsman truck series racer and was well known for his drive-it-hard performances and no holding back mentality. That is his character and whom he is. The HyperDevil is without question a true mirror of Ricky and his personality and his attitude -- he doesn't hold back and worry what others might think.
His HyperDevil is typically parked daily in front of his vinyl graphics and motorcycle shop in Charlotte, NC -- for those of you local give him a whistle and take a look at it.
Supposedly it will be on the Tail of the Dragon ride upcoming
(it was just at Deals Gap for some sportbike hooliganism) and it will surprise a few people without question...

The comments on that site are hilarious!
One of my fav:
Quote
Remember in the remake of the movie “The Fly” — at the end where the Jeff Goldblum/The fly grabs the end of his girlfriend’s shotgun and directs it toward his own head to end his misery… I think this bike would do the same thing if it could….

Mark, I think you need to put this quote on that site...it might bring a stream of real conciousness to some whom might comment ignorantly....

would i want one? No
would i respect it? a little (creativity)
would i disrespect it/the owner/the creator? No, Different stroke for different folks and thats how businessmen stay in business.

All i can say is the guy's got a great big smile on his face and what appears to be a Ducati superbike in the back of the garage, so he'd be a huge idiot to care even a little bit about what I think of his creation.

The comments on that website are brilliant, very funny.
I have to agree that the bike is not to my personal taste, but I do respect the amount of time, money and effort
in it's build and design.
Well done!

That bike is what it is, a functional showpiece. It is definitely built to grab attention, be it good or bad. Personally, I think it is pretty cool, but Mark's DesmoDevil is 10 times that bike. Everytime I look at the DesmoDevil, I think, WOW. It really speaks to me, but talks a completely different language that my wallet does. I long for the day when testicles are valued at $100,000. Cause I would give my left nut to have one
