there were problems with the AT-AT at Normandy. They were supposed to be air tight....just drop them overboard, and they walked to shore. but the seals failed, and many of the crews were lost.

and we all know the weakness of the Imperial walkers. the PIR's were able to neutralize them before they were ever brought into the fight.
