my heavy duty chain riveter is crap it bends when tightened up and is the 2nd I have tried so I gave up on expensive tools and have peened the link on my new chain again ,is that OK , i have more faith in clip links but cant find one here in thailand .

I peened the last S4 chain and it held for 10,000 miles but the one on my M750 broke after 3400 miles and was replaced by a spring clip , the rivetting tools I have are a chinese $50 onewhich is crap and a German $170 one which is also useless , a shop i saw in UK had hydraulic on but i guess thats expensive .

They call them "ball peen hammers" for a reason. Block of steel (bucking bars) behind and smack away. Never had a problem!
