That's right folks.  It's official.  Duck Stew....Monster Lover Numero Uno....has eschewed the Monster in favor of an 848.  But not just any 848, an 848 Hayen!

See the NMMR Club section for more details and pictures.

Congrats, Stu!

Yes, I did & I even put a picture of the offending perpetrator as my avatar to fully reel in all the angst and ill will.  I'm ashamed of myself to the point that I feel I must now report to the 'yet to be created' delete yourself entirely thread.

But at least I (unlike this threads founder) had the decency to trade in my Harley-Davidson for this new bike.  The founder of this thread not only still owns such machinery, but proudly displays and even races it.  If there is shame here good people, I am not the only one!

(LOL....  Yeah, I traded my Nightster for the 848NH with a lower payment and (somehow) lower insurance as well)  [moto]

Stew = 848NH
Bacon Junkie = 999
SacDuc = 900SS
Polpetta = '71 CB350 (pending)

Its not just Stew. I think a lot of people who owned older monsters would never in their right minds buy the newer version. Those things are kinda ugly.

But Stew is still perfecting the 750CR. He hasn't abandoned the monster, its just that he can build a better one than Ducati can.  waytogo

I ended up selling a M900 to help get an 848. I have to say I love it. I also have to say that I'm eying a Hypermotard or Streetfighter now because my riding style might be changing. Then again, it might not.  popcorn

define how much he will mod the bike.

as in if he is going to just put on rearsets, diff clip ons, slip ons and  some carbon parts that is not the level of modding that stu is known for.

but then again if he does do a redesigned gas tank, tail section, custom fab subframe, etc, then we are talking the types of mods that stu is known for.

sorry but standard "modding" should not count when it comes to stu, the modding we expect from stu is a much higher level than simple bolt on aftermarket pieces.

but otherwise, enjoy the bike stu and make sure you take that bad boy to the track where it was made to be enjoyed.  too bad you didn't have it back when you were in socal with the canyons.

Stu told me he was gonna keep it stock...

I suggested painting the rear shock spring red, and he reiterated... It's staying stock.

If he so much as puts high performance blinker fluid into the indicators, it's a mod, and his wallet will be thinner...   Evil
