Have you thought about a 950/990 Stupor-dodo?

Think it's too late, as he has already committed.

Lars you talking to me or Knight?

If me, I did. There was a 950 super for sale in dc a couple weeks back. But I decided if I was going to get something that beefy it'd need to be like the SMT or something a bit more down the Multi 1200 line.

One of my objectives was get lighter and have some dirt capability

For the record, the 950 Super Moto will do dirt just fine once you swap wheels on it.  After all, it's pretty much the same bike as the SE, just with 17" wheels.

Ian,
Was just thinking that a 950/990 would be easier on the license than a 690.

I know that if I were to own a 690 , loss of license and jailtime would follow.

Ironic that the 'little one' is the bad guy of the bunch. At first I was like 'What's Lars smoking?' Then I pondered it. If I'd gotten something like that 530 I'm sure I'd have been tempted to take it up on all sorts of areas and objects that John Law might find objections to. But the big supers, not so much... yeah I'll have to watch the naugty factor.

- Part of the notion of doing some dirt is to 'explore' a bit where prying eyes might not be looking

It turns out that they have enduro tours down here in Chile. You can rent a 690 for the low low price of $140 a day.

All of those water crossing were ridiculously shallow.  That said, even shallow water crossings can be tricky.
