I've been without a Duc for a couple of years, but just bought this 2007 S4RS with only 660 miles on it!

Nice bike, but you've got a lot of work ahead of you (though probably not as much as that sweet Porsche took) lol.

The Porsche was a two year project. A year and a half to restore it and about 6 months to get it sold. I am getting ready to tear the S4RS apart and build a Ti frame. I'm picking up a few more items for the shop this weekend but I am getting close to having everything I need.

Ti frame? Damn. You must have relatives that work at NCR!! Nice score on the scooter for sure!

Yes, I can weld Ti. I TIG welded Stainless Steel for 11 years, 10 hours a day. Ti welds about the same as SS, just takes a lot more preperation. I hope to do this fulltime eventually.

Yes, I can weld Ti. I TIG welded Stainless Steel for 11 years, 10 hours a day. Ti welds about the same as SS, just takes a lot more preperation. I hope to do this fulltime eventually.
The biggest difference is that Ti has distortion problems that make 304 or 316 SS look like child's play. Typically, titanium tube frames are built on a jig and stress relieved on that jig before they're unclamped to insure dimensional stability. The jig should be simple to fabricate using your stock frame, so have fun! The hard part is finding an oven big enough to relieve the whole weldment in. Congrats on the new acquisition. Keep the list "in the know" as you proceed with your build. Who knows, there may be a market in titanium Monster frames in your future. Cloner ABQ, NM
