Just back from service...

I just got the 6k service on my 05 M620. It has 4k on it but I wanted to get the belts done (bought it used) and figured might as well get the 6K. The dealer did it in about 4 hours and when I left the bike ran magnificently. The mechanic said the valves were in specs and that everything looked great.
I know that this is not an exciting post for most of you but I'm really stoked about the way the bike runs and feel good that it checked out fine. I almost feel like it's a new bike.
The only bad thing is that the dealer had a boat load of inventory and is willing to deal. I sat on an 848 evo that looked brilliantly. Hmmmm...

Might be a good time to upgrade.

Just do it. With all due respect to Nike.

I'd just need someone to buy a freshly serviced 620 (sorry son, you're not getting this one unless you pay!).
BTW, what does the ie in 620ie stand for? I don't know if mine is a ie or not. Don't know if it matters either.

'Itsa Expensive'
It's Italian for fuel injection but no one ever remembers the actual words
::que sarcastic post from someone who googled it::
all 620's were injected

Like turf said. ie is the designator for fuel injected. The Italian is "injection electronique" or something similar. I forget the specific verbiage. When they still made a 900 it was a way to differentiate the older carbie models from the newer fuelies.
And I know exactly what you mean. It could be all in your head, but it always seems like they run better right after you sacrifice a cow to the Ducati Gods.
I got mine back from Eric at Clubhouse after the 6k service and it was like a new bike, only better, cause he'd pulled the charcoal canister off.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

If you rode an 848 that would likely seal the deal. Especially coming from a 620 and that's not dissing a 620. The 848 riding position is a bit more aggressive but if you are used to a Serotta then you've got that covered too.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level. Everything else is just fluff.

That's what I'm afraid of... the aggressive position doesn't bother me a bit. As you say, riding a road racing bicycle really puts you in an agressive position and I can do 100 miles on it with no problem (couple of stops over the 5 1/2 ride).
I love the Monster for my daily comment and really don't "need" an 848. But when did need ever factor into things!?

620 to 848 would be a HUGE upgrade! The ensuing excitement may result in improper fitment between you and the gas tank :-P

If I recall correctly, it's "iniezione elettronica", which literally means electronic injection.

Now I just need to learn how to pronounce it so I'll sound like I know what I'm talking about.
