I am mostly a lurker on here, have bought a few items from a couple of you and until this past Friday I had a S2R1000.... That was until a ducati dealer ~ 150 miles from me advertised a brand new 09' M1100s for $11.5 K I gathered the necessary pink slip, and a couple pay stubbs and decided to go for a ride. A few hours later and here she is... of course, Many mods to come... [moto]

There's nowt wrong with treating your self, at least you get what you really want and not a pair of socks... On my 65th birthday I bought myself a S4Rs tricolore because no body else would... Nice buy, now just go out and enjoy it... [moto]

Cool balls. Congrats. Seems like a natural progression from a S2R1k. How would you compare the two?

Thanks Everyone!!
As far as comparo: First thing I noticed is it is higher in the seat, maybe just 2-3 inches but definitely higher, also had a little more trouble getting my leg over it (ahem, nothing losing a few LB's would not fix though). Next thing FRONT BRAKE! Wow! She has BRAKES, then noticed the stiffer suspension (although have not messed with it at all). The rear shock is WAY better already. Also, I sit a little more leaned over (but not bad at all) and you really feel on the front wheel (but it is good). Feels very dirt bike-ish in that, up on the bars kind of thing. Not finished breaking it in yet but, Roll on (no clutch) power wheelies in first gear without any trouble at all. I had to work it a little on the S2R1K. Have not gone 2-up yet, but have a feeling the lady will not like it as much. Planning to go on my first twisty ride with it Wed eve so can report back more after that...
I am definitely in love with it though. I really liked my S2R1k but am real happy with this so far!
