Finally kicked the rear right blinker broken :'(
«
on:
December 14, 2010, 04:38:59 PM »
I parked in a spot slightly titled to the left, so my left foot landed a little farther than usual, which reduced the usual hight my right leg travels at when getting off the bike... and there I heard/felt it... rear right blinker braking
The blinker itself was fine, rather the connecting part of the fender had cracked, broke and let the blinker dangling by it's power cord. I took her to the service shop and got it power-glued back for now. I will be chopping the tail in a few months, so I am hoping the glue will hold through the winter rain.
I guess what I wanted to share is that feeling of disappointment you get when you "hurt" your bike the very first time. It's almost as if I was sorry and wanted to apologize to her. You guys know what I am talking about right??

man, i tell you...
break= when something is destroyed
brake= the act of stopping
i've seen plenty of people using breaking when refering to stopping
now i've seen the braking of parts
ok being a grammar freak...
rant over
sorry

Raux, thanks for pointing out the typos
your/you're, here/hear, there/their, and on and on...
when typing fast, especially forums/emails, it's easy to not pay attention to those...
Anyhow, what are some alternatives? DP? Rizoma?
Does anybody know blinkers with a soft/rubber base that could take a kick and not break?

Same thing happened to my 2010 (sorry I was way ahead of myself
) Monster on the LR blinker, and the mounting on the plastic fender also cracked.
Which tail tidy/tail chop kit that does not require cutting the frame tubes?

Well, it's not really a "tail chop" kit if you don't chop the tail...

I just yanked all mine off all together. As long as you have all or none here in MO, it's street legal. Do I miss them every now and again, sure, but hand signals have a tendency to make you a little more noticable.
I didn't remove mine though from having kicked them too often. Being 6'4", leg clearance isn't really an issue
