Since I am coming up to my 15K mile service I wanted to start looking at the parts that need replacing and one of them are the belts.

I have seen that ca-cycleworks sells the set for $100 - any experience with them?  Good? Bad? Ugly?

I'm cheap - so if I can save from buying OEM I will :-)

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks.

In OZ the price is about the same as OEM. They hold up a fork lift, that's good enough for me.

Seriously, Chris appears quite committed to getting quality stuff made with a "same price or cheaper and better quality" philosophy.

He is doing the same with Dyna coils at the moment. It's the impressive attitude of  "I can't get what I want, make the beast with two backs it I'll get it made myself".

Pretty staunch.

i have'em and haven't had any problems. just recheck the tension at 500 and 1000miles. mine seemed to either slightly loosen or stretch. i'm leaning towards stretch. they weren't in anyway going to fall off. i'm going to buy them again.

I see more and more ducati techs using those in place of OEM parts to reduce cost of service invoices...

Good stuff.

We at Desert Desmo endorse the use of Exact Fit timing belts.   waytogo

We only use factory belts when a customer demands them.

Replaced my belts with these about a thousand miles ago.  Like previous posters said, they stretched a bit after 500 miles, but not to the point of concern.  I tightened them up, and they've held strong since.  Chris runs a great shop.  Super fast shipping, and the videos of basic procedures are priceless.  Big thumbs up on these.

I was running these belts when one of the fixed rollers came apart. Some of the balls from the bearing passed through the belt while it was running making nice little slits in the belt. The belts did not break. I replaced all the rollers and put another set of these belts on.

Had these belts on since they were released. No issues at all and I would purchase them again.

And Chris is a great guy and supporter of the community so your $$ are going to a good place.

Good timing for this thread, I need to replace my belts this winter.  Another order from ca-cycleworks is in the cards.

I haven't used them yet but I'm planning on it when I change my belts. I've talked to Chris in person and totally trust his judgment. If he thinks he's got something good then he probably does. You can always count on him to help make Ducatis as economical as possible without sacrificing quality.
