I agree but I like the idea of using the logo the way they are

I think getting rid of white box will greatly reduce the clutter

Well what do you know, it works on my Mac now.   

However, it's a bit hard to differentiate what has been read, and what hasn't.  Mac & PC.

I guess the colors just don't stand out enough.   

Maybe changing the color of the black dot in the middle of the unread will help.
