Author Topic: Bar Ends for S4RS?  (Read 4801 times)

So while looking for some new bar ends for my 2007 S4RS I noticed that all of the Fleabay listings exclude my model and year! Some just don't list it, other explicitely mention it!

WTF!

I was looking at the M-Label ones and they have the following:

"All Monster Series (will fit S*R series)/will not fit 900M,S4RS Tricolore"

Are the bars on the S4rs different for some reason?

ebay sellers are not generally known for being knowledgeable on specific applications  Wink

3 types of bar-ends
-steel bars all chrome-handlebar monsters (except for some M900S had alum bars)
-aluminum tapered handlebars (S2R/S4R/S4RS)- thicker wall makes the hole smaller
-S4 threaded bar-end

I don't know if they are different, but I ordered - still haven't installed - a Throttlemeister.  I had forgotten that the website said you have to drill out the bar end before it would fit.  Maybe they have a smaller internal diameter than the other bikes.

Thanks for the info!  I now feel better spending my hard earned $15 on bar-ends.

These have been mentioned before in other threads but they are the absolute best, but a bit pricey.  They have a shoulder that steps into the bar with an o-ring.  Stainless steel and copper expansion pieces make them heavy.  The o-ring fits so tight I had to oil it and hit it with a rubber mallet to make it fit.  I liked the solid feel of them.   The other down side besides the price is they do not sell replacment ends.  The smallest size specifically fit the S4Rs.

Put lane splitter mirrors in your bar ends.
