I'm trying to contact a mate who lives just out of Toowoomba, with no luck.

Hope he and his wife are safe, not to mention their horses and dogs.

I just can't believe it......................

Stay safe qlders!! It is scary to listen to this unfolding on Brisbane ABC

The Brisbane river bursting it's banks is insane.

If you can even get this because apparently Telstra and Vodafone are getting flooded and losing service in some areas, these are some links that might help:

Public Transport availability link: http://translink.com.au/travel-information/service-updates/weather-and-flood-affected-services
Qld BOM: http://www.bom.gov.au/qld/
Road closures: http://highload.131940.qld.gov.au/
ABC Radio QLD: http://www.abc.net.au/brisbane/programs/webcam_radio.htm?ref=listenlive
Info line for friends, relatives: 1300 993 191

try and keep dry

 waytogo Good one Craigo

FYI
some number:

Flood Info Line 1300993191
QLD SES 1800606000
QLD Road Closure 1300130595
and hoped not to be use
NSW RTA Road Closure 131700

 waytogo And good one Jukie.

Can't help but feel a little useless, sitting here and watching this all unfold before my eyes.

Yeah know how you feel but at least at work I feel a bit better. All we can do is to hope and pray for the best outcome from a very bad situation

Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

« Reply #19 on: January 11, 2011, 03:21:14 PM »

I have started receiving PMs from members overseas, checking on our well-being. This is (quite obviously) a global news event and although there is only so much that can be done the thoughts and best wishes of our mates in this special little community is fantastic.

Jukie was in contact with Loony yesterday ... unfortunately I suspect that he has been seriously effected by now. Hope you are keeping yourself and family safe mate.

Same goes for everybody else. Keep yourselves safe ... that's the most important thing. We know people effected by the Hunter floods a couple of years ago as well as some effected by bushfires ... but in the end personal safety is paramount.

cheers mark, we're all good here, can't go anywhere cause all the exits are flooded but our house is safe, unlike so many poor souls in ipswich and brissie.

Thanks for letting us know Paul.  Have you heard any more from MickD and family?

Rained all night here last night. Couldn't sleep through it thinking about how dangerous all this water is.  (We had 63mm and lots more to come in the next 2-3 days).  Still nowhere near as devastating as you guys.

Stay safe.

My heart goes out to all the poor buggers up there in Qld.

And our fellow DMF friends.

Donation sent to the appeal.

Hope you're all safe up there. It's a disaster on a gigantic scale when you consider the area affected.
The generosity of QLD to Vic with the fires was huge and it will return North now.
