local machine shop?

need to find a local machine shop to bore my top triple for SBK forks. Obviously there are already holes there, I just need them enlarged slightly (from 50.0_ to 53.0_)
might have some other work come up too after, but thought i'd do a 'test run' first.

Good question. I have no intel but maybe Ron or Stan have some info through their car contacts. I'm sure other folks might find the info useful also.

Post up if you find anything, I need one occasionally. I've used a good welder in the Grand Prairie area, but the machinist I used to use left the planet.

I'll keep you posted. I have an email or two out inquiring.
Some of the shops are quite advanced for what I want at the time being. I don't need to send cad/cam files to do this. Its straightforward!

If I had a boring bar for a mill I could hook you up in 15 minutes...
The best way to do what you need:
Find a local Bridgeport equipped machine shop,
at lunch (or 5:30) hang out and bring beer (or $20)...
***POOF***
It'll get done quick-like.
I usually need a little bit trimmed off a scope rail or somesuch -and most machine shops
have a "NO GUN PARTS" policy- no matter what that part might be.
If you walk in the front door and ask the owner -he'll escort you back out the front door.
...so I use the above method when I need some chips to fly.
The machinists themselves are very reasonable people.
It's worked for me every time.

Give them a call...
I've ordered the tooling to do this
(boring head, two boring bars, and a spindle adapter)
-but it's going to be a week before I've got it in my hands... :'(

well i'm in no real rush - i've still got to grab the sbk forks i'm going to use with it. i've got 848 forks, considering getting calipers to fit those and doing it all modern...
... so, if you are really moving on that then you might beat me to it. i could always use another good lesson about how not to lose a finger.

It's done, ordered, on the way... (the boring head itself is backordered and is 3-4 days behind)
This time next week I will be able to make super round holes.
We can commence finger-retention classes then.

The boring head adapter shipped out today... it's the last required piece to do this.
