Kind of sounds evil in its own way. So, how do they regulate the electric bikes as far as weight/ max output to race in a certain class?

here's the thread about the bike over on the wera forum. i'm not sure if he covers it here, but sean/mongo would be the person to ask.

makes me wonder what a racer, any racer, thinks when they get passed by that or anything like it...you get passed by a twin or a liter bike, you know what it is and why...THAT on the other hand...the sound and the look of THAT one...

Meh, it was all good stuff to me. The only real thing would be to calculate the classes so that you would have fairly even power to weight ratios. If you are racing, and otherwise, you are usually more in tune with your own machine's noise to really think about the noise, or lack of, from your fellow racer's rig.

Should there not also be an energy density or distance capability calculation in there too? If an electric bike can go 7 laps at full bore, it might have an advantage over gas bikes. But if the race is 14 laps, does it even belong in the class?

it's a little more complex than that. mongo does a decent job of performance indexing (where appropriate) the wera classes.
