I wonder how hard it would be to add some mounting tabs to a S2R frame for those...

Not hard, I used some steel plate and drilled some holes to mount the s*r passenger rearsets on my 900

Looking at pictures it seems that you are right... it wouldn't be hard at all.  Biggest problem is keeping the kickstand bolted on, and that's easy.  Or maybe it's the longer shift linkage... either way, not a hard project methinks

Considering how the spacing of the S*R passenger peg mounts is actually the same exact distance as the rearset mounting holes.... Not hard at all.

If I owned a Monster these would fit on I would let you know how they work with each exhaust first hand, but unfortunately I don't at this time.

That said, I can't see why they won't work with either high or low mounts, but if somebody purchases them and realizes they won't work - just send them back for a full refund (just don't damage them).

I'll post up some pictures of them mounted on my ST4 soon for you guys to drool over though.

Hi-

I have Leo Vince High-mount exhausts on my 2000 M750 and the hanger (for the can) is mounted on the passenger part of the the stock rearset. I noticed that your Monster rearsets don't have that provision. Would I relocate the hanger for the can onto the subframe? I don't have to have a pillion (M750 is terrible for passengers unless they weigh <150#).

Those are some attractive rearsets, and I think I will have to buy some once I get some more $$$ for my build.

get some muffler clamps for like a set of 748/916/996 mufflers and just reshape them a small bit and use some round conduit clamps from Home Depot and you mount the cans to the subframe grab handles....that is what I have done in the past...

Nice rearsets - why does the S4rs get shafted w/a $624 price tag while the old Monsters are $279?

But aren't the mounts back further and higher than the classic monster bracket mounts?

Very much so... but I think he was talking moving the ones for the passenger pegs, or using them as a template for new ones.

Judging by supertjeduc's pic, these ones really bring the pegs up and back quite a bit...

thanks for the response.  it's not the clearance I'm worried about, but rather there's nothing to hang a low mount exhaust off.

it'd be a shame to have such pretty rearsets and ugly pipe straps.

This is my concern as well. I want to avoid fugly pipe straps if at all possible, while maintaining the low pipes. New exhaust is not in the budget for me this year.

I have the S&P rearsets on my S4r (07').  Nice product, fits great....except they will need clearance work near the chain.  I had to take a die grinder to the back side and make a bit more room, as the chain was nearly touching the backside of the rearset while the bike was on the sidestand.

Here's how DMF member Juan worked out the low-mount Leo Vinces with rearsets:

http://flic.kr/p/9c2XYR

I'm considering cutting my stock 900 peg brackets to remove the whole passenger section so I've been looking into the best way to deal with the missing stock exhaust mounting point. This is simple solution.
