do not use your loan money for motorcycle parts.

I know people love the post 99 SS, but anything you can do to that bike that makes it look better is ok by me.

i.e.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I knowvschool loans are for books, tools, tuition, etc. but i would be working too and the extra $ would allow me to spend more of my own money on parts. Either that or controlled substances, but i'm going on 7 years clean so parts it is!

you should not take the loan money then. don't risk a financial bind or have to finance things with interest that you don't need!  just a terrible idea financially.

Bikes are bad investments and spending borrowed money on modding a bike is probably down near the bottom of bad ideas.

imagine if you bin it into somebody's yard to the point it looks like you are setting up a yardsale...and are paying interest on stuff you didn't need. eegadz

I started out with the idea of modding the 99 SS. maybe i'm wrong, but looking at the pics provided upto now, the lines of the 99 SS's frame don't seem to work as well. enyways, i'm lovin the way the tank lies flat along the frame. It just looks clean. Someone suggested a SS or SBK tank on a monster frame and I like the idea, but im having a hard time envisioning it. anyone got any pics?

*as for the other issue, ok,ok, ok, the horse is dead. Honestly i was half joking about the loan$. Last i checked i was elligable for a grant as well. Regardless, there's likely gonna be only a few pennies left after tools and tuition. Any extra $ i made would be from extra hours worked. I know there are unforseen expenses with any project, but if i were to follow my original formula, this is more of a subtraction problem than one of addition. The majority of the expenses i would likely incur would be for things i would have to send parts out to have done, but most votechs have those resources on campus. Also, many tech programs allow or encourage students to bring bring in a project at some point, so there is that. This is all a big giant hypoyhetical what if.

For the record, an ST2 is 944 cc's, liquid cooled and has NASTY camshafts.

what do you use to clean them?

(just kidding.. Chris Kelley used them in a 900ss engine... I've been trying to find a pair... )

I did some more looking around (btw radical duc produces some amazing machines!). I still dont see how SBK or SS tank would mate with a Monster frame. I havnt lookt at those aftermkt pcs yet tho. But I have lookt a little more carefully at the ST2 with an objective eye. I am curious how the ST2 tank would look on the Monster. Can it be done in such a way as to retain the existing seat and cowl?

it certainly wouldn't be straightforward. If you were looking for something that would bolt up, that would definitely not happen.
