has anyone monsterized a supersport? REVISED

okay, so I love my monster. let me make that abundantly clear. if there is any doubt, read my introductory post. that said, I have a unique opportunity: a family member has offered me their 1999 Supersport 900. its got less than 4k miles on the od and is in SPOTLESS condition. the engine is gleaming and its got a set of fast by feracci carbon slip ons. in fact, this bike can be seen in the background of the fotos in the previously mentioned post.
now th@ I have this option, when I look @ the Supersport, can any one guess what i'm thinking? i'm seeing the full fairing removed, maybe a belly fairing in its place, some cyclecat clip ons, bar end signals and mirrors, rounded off gas tank, grafted tail-section, underseat exhaust.....basically i'd love to make a frankenstein monster out of it! am I crazy? I must be. but back to reality; unless anyone can convince otherwise i'm thinking i'll be keeping my monster. but then again....
so, has anyone else felt the urge to undo what is argueably Pierre Terblache's greatest accomplishment and monsterize a Ducati Supersport? if so, I need to see picrures. this is serious. i'm literally losing sleep over this. i'm a sick, sick, man... or am I?

I would not do that to a Super Sport in such good condition. Look for a rat.

1st...that is far from PT's greatest accomplishment...so I hope that was sarcasm...
2nd...it is a tradegy to do something like that to a pristine and clean machine....wreck it 1st and do it or find a rat bike to do that too
3rd...yes, it has been done on a few occasions...everyone's eye for what the end result is or should be ends up being different...
4th...why would you be getting rid of the Monster? SS in addition to Monster = YES! SS in place of Monster = WTF/NO ....but that is my humble opinion...

...and look what I just found:
this is about as close an example of my own vision I was able to find. rilly digging the rake. not feeling the chrome headlight, or the monposto (is th@ rite?) but yeah, i guess th@ would be a pretty effed up thing to do to such a pristine specimen. but, god, it would be fun!
anyone got a shattered 888, 916, or supersport.....cheap? (
very
cheap)

to each his own.. if you do that to any Ducati, it's no longer a sportbike. that rake makes the bike handle very weird if you are in the original rider position and there's no reason to have an extended swingarm on any bike with that weight:hp ratio.
i might be equally impressed if someone just took a pristine SS and took a dump on it..

the rake and extended swingarm weren't on the menu, but even if they were you've just talked me out of them. I do like the tail tho (but not the seat) and the cleaned up front end, but those are aestheic matters and as such subject to personal tastes. your machine is far superior IMHO in every other respect. why f with the geometry, unless ur improving the performance and handling, rite?

I've seen a few naked SS and SBKs that looked nice. The problem with the SBK is that there is a lot of hoses and wires hidden underneath that fairing, but the SS didn't have all that. You are left with figuring out what to do with the cockpit, which has the subframe for the fairing and gages. Throw it all out, reduce the wiring and use a different tach/speedo and you might have something. I have some other pics at home, I'll post them when I can.
No one has done it on the later model SS though that I have seen-- I mean, I am sure its been done, I just haven't seen it.

This is absolutely my favorite naked sport bike conversion ever.
Guy had it for sale here in Germany when I was looking for a possible replacement of my bike after I wrecked it.
plus I love Gulf racing colors.

The wide bars look a little odd with the front fairing, but I do love the Gulf colours!
