Yep they tested them from HD about a year ago and I think have taken them on as a bit of a PR exercise also.....

Dollar would certainly have something to do with it. Someone (can't remember who) told me that the bikes, beemers cost as much to setup as a full pursuit car. And I'd have to agree with ya Aunty, they do look pretty cool. PR exercise..... Cool cop bikes = cool cops, until you loose points on your plastic. Then cool =  |

end of the day it just reinforces they are strictly revenue raising devices, I cant see the safety or police presence (other than the aforementioned pr) - or someone found an old re-run of CHiPS - although they were riding Kwakas! [moto]   |

Don't think there a permant fixture yet . The news story i saw on channel 10 before Christmas said they are trialing two Harley's. [moto] I think i could even out run those not that i would try And they do look rather intimidating |
