I never knew that the S1000RR/K1300S/etc. didn't have TC/ABS! Good to know

Except the Streetfighter exhaust cans don't look like plastic.
When was the last year when you saw a stock exahust that looked decent though? Nothing's going to be as nice as the stuff we throw on aftermarket. I just think they got the location right on this model, as opposed to the base model stuff.

You mean "does" have TCS/ABS? I've heard the s1000rr is nigh impossible to ride without it.

while i understand the extra bends related to making equal length headers, i sure think that looks dumb.
The headers are more of an issue for me; the cans aren't too bad.

True enough. The stock Sport 1000 exhaust for 2006 looked ridiculous! I also didn't like the 696/1100 exhaust originally, but I actually like it now with the new style heat shield (either that, or I've gotten used to the design
). I actually like the looks of my stock 796 cans better than most of the aftermarket slip-ons; I just wish they made a
bit
more noise.

I agree. In thinking about that, I think that the last stock exhaust that I was fond of was the low mounted single cans that the earlier monsters sport - same as I have now but updated to CF. Not saying I don't like the single sided ones, just not on a double sided swing arm. Good point though.

on the contrary - muskrat has highmount cans, one on each side of his S4R - a sss bike. I like how it leaves the wheel open and gives the bike symmetry from the rear. (like if you are slow enough to have to follow him)

the gt1000 has decent enough looking cans especially for a 'classic' themed bike. kind of fit the bill, y'know?

good have done the math to do equal volume flow and pressure using varying diameters rather than extra bends and length... looking forward to seeing a dry clutch conversioned, aftermarket exhausted '11 M1100

You've heard wrong. Most of the local racers turn off the TC on the S1000RR. I don't believe ABS is allowed.

The thing that originally attracted me to the S2R was the way the pipes looked. Then I got one, and it was one of the first things that had to go. I have seen many Streetfighters and the pipes looked OK to me. Not the biggest fan of the overall New Monster, so I am not going to belly-ache about the pipes.

Unless you live in California.
Nothing has changed in CA. More misinformation from jealous "other Staters."

For bikes manufactured during/after 2013? SB435 made it illegal to alter/replace your stock, EPA stamped exhaust system with anything from the aftermarket, no?

I agree with Dave. If you have a SSS, why are you going to block the wheel with some ugly ass cans? I will wait until I see the Termis. If not I would look at if the underseat exhaust will fit the Evo.

It's illegal to tint your windows, modify your car exhaust, not run a front plate, etc, etc. I don't foresee SB435 being a big deal.
