The black and gold SS would look badass.  Especially if I went the Öhlins route down the road. For the price I think its a decent buy, but it'll take some work to get her back to her former glory

well you have another bike and a cage....and a garage!  hell i'll even bring some guinness over for some wrenching.

Rich, I want to compare it to your SS. Yours is in better overall shape so I'm using that as a baseline on the order of repairs/restores.  Road worthiness is my top priority then the asthetics will be saved for the winter.

i'm all about road worthiness also since mine will be a daily driver, believe me... cosmetic-wise all the body work had almost zero flaws....extremely good shape.  i'm wanting to pull the clutch probably after HC trip and see how it looks...maybe replace it with something aftermarket and lighter.  besides the overheating (which may just be me being not used to a fully faired bike...except for the high idling  Undecided ) it shifts and runs great.  i don't know how practical this is man, but you're more than welcome to stop by the warehome and take mine out to see how it stacks up.  you'll just have to coordinate with Randy/Scott   waytogo  they're pretty accommodating guys, though.   Wink

Too bad for me but all the girls I've met recently aren't too keen on riding pillion. Its probably because of the size of the seat on the 848. The SS may change their mind.

Its odd b/c they say they love the way the bike looks but don't wanna have their ass 4' in the air

uhhh...i'm not sure where to begin.  i see george has already taken the liberty of picking apart that quote...

the girl i was hanging out with this weekend actually said she went for a ride on a white 848 a couple/few days back...how many of those could there be (eerie if you were the one giving her rides, huh)?  and she keeps asking for a ride on one of my bikes....honestly i'm not big on doing the ride thing, though.

That's the problem with the girls... Too self conscience about their bodies even though you could bounce a quarter off their ass
