And the dumbass award goes to.......  ME!

I've had my Jeep Cherokee since December '08 and it's been a great work vehicle.  I recently purchased a trailer to use for trackdays and figured I needed to put a hitch on the Jeep.  I called Uhaul and made the appointment.  Dopped it off to them.  30 min later they call me and here's the conversation.  "Mr Caldwell...  Yes?  Did you want me to just replace the existing wiring harnes, because it doesn't work, but you already have a tow hitch and it seems pretty solid.....  Huh....?!?!?! Really?!?!?!  Uh....  Yeah, I guess you can replace the wiring harness....  Ok, we'll have'r done in about an hour..."

bang head laughingdp bang head laughingdp I have actually borrowed other peoples vehicles for that very reason.....  I never saw the trailer hitch, that is the plain as day drop down 2" square tubing that sticks out like a sore thumb.....  Oh well, I saved 200 bucks!

You're lucky they didn't take you literally and weld another receiver onto the one you already have:

Huh?

which actually looks pretty useful, when you compare it to the original U-Haul design sketch:

I haven't noticed anyone tailgating lately that would be old enough to know a Claymore from a cow turd. But, then, I'm old, dammit! Grin
