I think the floodlights shining on my driveway only help the damn thieves see what they're doing!
Wish I could rig up the motion detector on the lights to a 12 gauge. Nothing says welcome to my driveway after dark like Federal Tactical buckshot.
Hopefully they didn't get her car or do any damage. I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of those a##holes breaking into my storage unit and trying to steal my bikes. Time flies by whether your'e having fun or not.
Hope your Monster doesn't sit outside near her car.

locked in a garage, on stands with the wheels off currently, battery unplugged, and garage door non-opening. somebody would have to carry it away piece-by-piece through the locked side door, through my backyard and out the front. and deal with a mid-twenties hairy white guy in his boxers talking to his shotgun about halfway.

More good thinking!
Would go along nicely with my toy/replica Claymore mine trailer hitch plug on my Suburban! (which sits in above referenced well lit driveway and yes, it's been broken in
)

thinking about taking the 848 apart and doing a good clean up on it since its super dirty and could use some TLC....
should I go ahead and send the pipes off for ceramic coating or just scotch brite\polish them?

I think Bryant had ceramic coating on his 620 Monster's pipes if I remember correctly. I think he used Jet Hot. I remember they looked really good. Didn't Norris (NorDog) have Jet Hot do his S4RS pipes too? You can't miss them... they are RED! Kinda neat.

I saw a 1098 with silver ceramic coated pipes.
It <ahem> isn't what I would want to do...
(WD-40 and some red scotchbrite is cheap and turns a nice golden hue with time

Yep I used Jet-Hot for my 620 pipes and they turned out great. I'll post a few pics of their work so you can see what they looked like. It was ok price-wise ~180$ for gloss black (which will eventually turn more eggshell with all the heat cycles)
Rich, thanks for the nod on the scotchbrite/WD-40 tip. I'll more than likely go that route as its mostly free and will be easy enough for me to do while drinking a beer or two. If I were to do the ceramic again, I'd probably do a matte grey or some sort to mirror the frame or do black again. But right now I think the polishing will do the trick.
grrr, can't find any pics from the 620 on my laptop...

You could get the damper directly from the rep? That's neat. Figured he would make you go through a dealer like Dan Kyle or AMS.
