Time to support Allan's move back to DFW!
They gave me a hell of a discount, got everything I wanted except for the heated seats (coming soon) - I must say that it was a pleasant experience buying the new baby today. I haven't been into a GM or similar dealer in a decade because I've been buying Benz. WOW what a change the domestic dealers have accomplished. Coming from someone who will argue with a stop sign that means something.
Pepe approves!

I've got one of those in a '08 TX Edition. Love it. All the remote door locks went to shit this last year but I can still do old school manual just fine. I'm sure it's out of warranty for that but I'm not gonna pay to have it fixed. Went through that on my old '99 Suburban. Damn near dropped $900 on the four doors!!
Ducati must make the remote door locks!
Great truck but why does it have to be so high? There's no ground clearance advantage.
I have to step up onto the spokes of the rear wheel just to reach over the side rail of the bed to pick something off the floor. And my wife won't ride in it because she has too work so hard to get in the cab. Again, I love it but there is zero reason for it to be higher than my 2002 extended cab. And we are talking half ton, two wheel drive here. Guess GM marketing thinks little weeny truck drivers want monster trucks.
They would be wrong.
Enjoy the ride Dax!

Thanks.
I like it high, or was that college? Anyway, it's reasonable to get in but I wont be doing a body lift on it because after all the axle gets you stuck every freakin time.....my old Z71 learned the hard way until i got 285's on her and so it will be done here once these crappy OEM tires wear out. I'm not a patient person so my wife told me SLOWLY right......I heard blah blah blah blah

Looks good
I tend to agree with oldfastwin though, trucks these days are massive. I remember my first car, 1991 Ford Ranger. Thing was tiny compared to a Ranger from today, and the F150, forget about it. Cars seem to do the same thing, just look at the Mini, started out small, came to the States, still a small car for here and now you can get the newer models which are larger.... but it's called a "Mini"
. I guess that's progress.... which by my calculations will mean the Smartcar should be approaching the size of a H2 in about ten years.
Early morning, pre-coffee rant over.
Looks great, congratulations!
.... also, could I borrow it? I need to move some stuff.

Having a Suburban and a pick up (+ trailer) makes you much more popular than you ever deserved to be.
Bye the way Dax, great color choice!
In Texas white cars and trucks are a good choice. Jump to June through August and ask me why again.
Apparently I wasn't smart enough to remember that with this pick up purchase but the kick ass AC saved me. Again, even with the crazy door lock issue and the body height I LOVE my truck!!

The additional view from the elevated vantage point is worth it. also, without the additional body height, there's no way to get your twankie-deuce rims in there.

Well the wife wanted to drive a Mini Cooper S so off we went......she changes her mind like I do. needless to say she picked the convertible and I told her NO NO NO NO because I hate rag-top convertibles (bad experience). The thing drove very well but with the top up it made more noise than my three dogs snoring. You should have seen the look of sadness on Mrs. E. Anywho, she said no way I'm switching from Benz to Mini - a win for me! Now though she's trolling the Ewing website for sedans.
By the way, Sewell is now a Mini dealer in Plano.
Back to original content. I sold my last truck a little over a year ago and vowed NEVER again to be without a truck so we knew we'd buy one. I was lucky to get this color (a fancy pearl white) and knew good and well not to buy a black car again. I had two black moto's and the last three Benz have been black. I'm too anal to keep a black car unless it's a play car.
Truck is available for rental at $300/day without trailer, if you wish to have trailer at your disposal that's another $50/day plus gas.

haha.
My Camaro (I had a 30th Anniversary) was a ragtop. it was redneck heaven on wheels. (actually, redneck heaven is on wheels, but that's a moot point)

If you drive the truck does the rental rate drop to the cost of lunch?
