Looks almost exactly like this:

Only difference is mine's got a solo seat and an after market undertail exhaust that's trick as shit, louder than calscrazy's old Monster, and is as hot as the surface of the sun.   Pretty much like my SBK in that respect  Cheesy

Misc. stats on the 2001 Daytona 955:
955cc fuel-injected Triumph Triple; cylinder head by Lotus Engineering
436 pounds

My Triumph Speedmaster cruiser has received a significant boost in power and handling; traded it in on a Triumph Daytona 955i...

Cool!

I like mine a lot.  I think '01 was the last year for that body and engine.
I always liked the organic look of that style.

It's not a bike I'd want to seriously track.
The brakes are OK.
The suspension is great on the highway but only "fair" when really pushing it.
It's a bit heavy and long wheelbased for trackwork, but that translates into a Cadillac-like ride on the highway.

It's a comfortable and fun daily driver.

The engine in mine is the newer design (Kawasaki)
Smooooooth like a sewing machine.

How is the earlier engine?

I like the triple.  It has good torque and a high rev'ing top end.  The Daytona has a few more horsepower than my 999 but doesn't quite have as much juice out of a slow speed corner.  Wheelbase is within 1/2 an inch of the SBK.  The Daytona works well on my favorite roads ridden at a quick pace and, as you say, the ride is still pretty plush.

Over all, it's a fun and funky sport touring machine  chug

You had me a bit worried when you got the cruiser.
Good choice for a replacement waytogo
