... but taking a slab of uninterupted plastic and making it attractive can be tough.  Maybe cut/modify the existing ones?

Here's a little photo-chop sans scoops...I think I like it  :)

I have been prepping and painting over the last couple evenings and here are the results so far.  I used Dupli-Color Bright Red spray, and the same brand clear coat.  That tail piece is by Barracuda  that was molded in black with a pebbled surface.  I used gray body primer over it then sanded the whole thing with 320 until the gray was removed and I had a nice smooth surface.  Primered with Rustoleum automotive white primer for plastic, used the red, then finished with the clear coat.  I had already painted the aftermarket cowl red, but it was scratched and chipped so I wet sanded with 400, then began building up color coats again.  The red was wet rubbed with fine scotchbrite before clear coat was applied.  The belly pan required more work as I had to blend in the center mold part line.  Primer, sand, primer again, etc., final prime with white, the color coat, scotchbrite, clear coat.  I think the pan will require a light rubbing out to cleanup the clear coat.  Pictures of the parts mounted after they cure for a few days.

Nice work!

What was the code on the duplicolor? and does it match pretty good?

Thanks!   The color is BGM0398 Bright Red.  It required two cans each of color and clear coat (BCL0125) to cover all three parts (I used Krylon Banner Red on the inside of the pan to save Duplicolor).  I originally used this color to paint the tail cowl last year and I matched it from the cap.  I figured it was separated enough from the other colored parts that a close match was good enough.  I went with what I knew for the pan and fender and you can see for yourself that it's pretty close, though from some angles and lighting it could be a wee bit darker than stock.

Bike looks great  [thumbsup]  Really liking what you have done.  Only thing I would do is reroute that hose on the right side of the engine.  That always has bugged me.  Even Ducati started rerouting it with the HM and new Monsters.

Quick question - What's with the "Remove Before Flight" streamer?  I know what they are used for, just curious as to where you have it connected and it's purpose.

Man, the belly pan with the stock DSS rearsets gives some really cool lines! But it looks great with the SSS too!

Thanks!  The streamer is to remind me to make sure everything is ready for riding...tightened screws, checked fluids, etc...just to make sure it's safe to ride after working on it.
