I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

At least you get a check every week or every other week. I haven't had one since January.

Restoring a classic bike is a long, expensive, and difficult progress; especially of you are trying to do it the right way, not just the easy way. My CB250G5 is one of the first Hondas with a front disc brake, which is a simple chrome plated steel piston sealed with a rubber gasket into the caliper body. After sitting idle for years in a bath of corrosive brake fluid, the old piston became pitted, rusty, and had chrome flaking off not only on the inside, but on the outside sealing area. This can cause brake fluid to leak past the seal, and make the already "soft" braking more of a 50/50 encounter with death. Kevin (Monsterlover), out of some mad sense of generosity, machined up a new caliper piston out of stainless steel... and it is a thing of absolute mechanical beauty. HE EVEN PUT MY NAME ON IT!!!!
(Better pictures on the way soon.)
Look at that! It's beautiful.
And although there was never any question about fitment, I tested it out. It could not fit any better. The measurements are spot on, and it really is a shame this gorgeous chunk of metal will be hidden under brake fluid and a caliper. I take comfort in the fact that I actually will never have to worry about the most common Vintage Honda front brake problem again. Kev, I cannot thank you enough, man. Once again, The DMF reminds us of how truely generous and kind our brothers and sisters can be to one another.

I couldn't make a rotor from scratch but I could lighten up an existing one.
@ Pip- glad to help you out bro

Kev, nice piece .. PIP enjoy it and take pics from all angles ...
BTW, that piston [the old one] with a little 'ceboecuba' fits perfectly and wont leak ....
[that's how lots of real cheap shops fix brake fluid/preasure leaks in Latin America and lots of third world countries]

Things have started to pick up a little. Looks like I've landed some longish term higher volume work to keep things rolling along.
Good thing I got that mill because out of the blue I got a call from a past acquaintance to do some work for them and ill need the mill to do it.
This is low volume (couple pieces at a time) repeat work. Repeat is the key.
I also had a meeting with another potential customer yesterday. He's coming out to see the shop next week so that's cool.
2012 is going to be my year.
We're gonna crush everyone.
