Its pretty fast. The last depth I did was with the feed over ride at 200%

I think you mean money instead of magic. That's probably a $750,000 machine. Not to mention the cost of software they used to program it.

That being said, a mill turn center like that will be in my shop the second I can afford to do it.

Saw a $611,000 Okuma version at the last open house okuma put on. I could do a lot of bad things with it :D

I suspect you'd be hard pressed to come up with a definition for money that an objective observer didn't equate with magic, or at least hypnotism. I give you a piece of plastic (that you don't even get to keep!) or a paper with some numbers scrawled on it, and you give me stuff with actual value?

Magic, i tell you.

Then again, I show up at work every day, and it's not even in exchange for that scrawled piece of paper anymore, just electrons (that I don't even get to keep!). I guess it might be more like mass hypnotism...

I kept having to remind myself that the stock started with rust on the outside; cutting aluminum like that would have been impressive enough!

most metal that size has scale on the outside.

even aluminum has a skin on it ;)

I liked the no coolant and still no visible signs of heat on the part or tooling.

...and the part where the machine switched jaws all by itself. ;D
