Some folks are easily entertained.
It should cut impressively!

Cutting a 9" round bar of 316 stainless.
About 25 minutes so I didn't bother with video.
And every once in a while a machine needs it's coolant removed and changed out for new. This one stunk like a corpse so we got after it the other day.
I use a pneumatic unit that uses air to create a vacuum in a 55 gallon drum through the little bung. The big one gets the suction hose.
If the drum has a weakness, this rig will find it.

So how long does it take to go from stock round to finished widget?
How many cuts do you get out of a saw blade?
316 isn't soft.

Well, if the widgets a 3x hockey puck replica in 316 steel... not long
Going to guess this ones a good challenge. Even that "small" cut off bit looks like it's good and heavy to move from process to process. How much did that full length of 316 weigh ML?

Depends on what you're making. These parts are probably 30-45 minutes to fully machine. We'll remove around 100 pounds of material from that 8" long blank.
Saw blades can last quite a while when you run them correctly. I don't have a base line for the new saw yet. It's got better coolant, better supply of coolant to the cut, thicker blade and a longer blade, and this saw is much more rigid than the old scissor style saw I used to have.
Life will be in hours but I'm not sure how many just yet.

I don't know how long that piece was since it was customer supplied. 9" round 316 is 220 pounds per foot though. That was probably 2000 pounds or so at least.

Is really not bad. We look at it the same way we do low carbon steel. This particular job required a lot of OD roughing. We push a plate against the face of the raw blank with the hydraulic tail stock to support and "capture" it. I will take a .25" radial cut at 600sfm and a feed of .012"/rev. The machine has the spindle power to do more but the Z axis thrust is maxed out. I can't push the cutter into the material and harder without over loading the servo.
It's like someone is pouring chips out of a bucket into the machine for five minutes straight
