This past fall the old Lincoln dealership next door to work was leveled with a couple of big ass track-hoes.
It was tough getting anything done with that show going on.
Might as well have been a bunch of hot strippers lol.
The only thing better than watching it is getting paid to actually do it.
And speaking of lathes...
Using a 15 amp grinder in conjunction with a lathe has always seemed like a bad idea.
Last night I confirmed that it is, in fact, definitely, a bad make the beast with two backsing idea.
Don't do that shit, kids. Ever.

Conversely a piece of emery/crocus cloth works pretty well.

What happened?
This is my go to method to put a non directional finish on flywheels. Well, with a sanding disc that is.

Knowing him he was using a 7" hard disc on a thin wall tube.

7-8 fingers is surely enough to get through life, right?

Har har.
It was a 9" wheel.
(And it was a disc of 1/2" stainless plate. I was true-ing up the edges with the grinder because I couldn't find any tungsten carbide tools for the lathe.)

Sooo...
I wasn't far off.
Hope you heal quickly. I'm not going to check out the carnage.

I'll give you the cliff notes on it.
Muscle and bone were visible.
And it took 15 stitches to close it up.
Next time I'll look harder to find the carbide tooling.

There will be plenty to dig there.
