Yeah, I've got no problems with the rumble strips if they're on the double yellow...

Maybe it'll keep the squiders away.  I doubt it, though.  Undecided

I tend to stay away from the Malibu canyons on weekends anyway. Too many Harley's/Squids/Mohawks/ICON vests with club names ending in "z".

They're much more fun on a Tuesday afternoon, following a Police on his Beemer, with nobody else on the roads.  He kept a fairly spirited pace that day.   Evil

By the way, we're headed up the 33 again tomorrow.

2/6/2011.  There's a thread posted.  [moto]

Speaking of the 33...those submerged reflectors are trouble enough, so avoiding the centerline rumble strips would be a good idea.

stupid idea, when will people learn that there is a certain level of loss that is associated with any dangerous situation you just have to accept that you live on a busy road, if you don't like then those people can move, simple as that.

I mostly agree with you... Kind of like how I feel about the noise restrictions at Laguna Seca.  You built your house next to a frickin' RACETRACK!!!!  It's gonna be loud.  Deal with it.  If ya didn't want to hear the noise from the track, build somewhere else.  Roll Eyes

As for the rumble strips detering centerline crossers, I have no problem with that.  Have I ever crossed the centerline to pass? Perhaps, but I would never do it in a blind corner, or in a situation where I couldn't see if there was oncoming traffic or not.

As for the people complaining... They need to put on their grownup pants and stop being whiny little turds.  Chances are they have lived in the area less than 20 years, and knew about the "recreational uses" of the roads in the area beforehand.

Riders need to make smart choices about when and where to pass, drivers need to keep right if they have a line of more than 5 vehicles/bikes behind them, cyclists need to ride single file,  and everyone needs to drop the righteously indignant rhetoric about how everybody else is wrong.

Will the rumble strips help? Maybe. But, since I don't cross the double yellow in the middle of a corner, I don't give a sh!t either way.  If they ran across the road, on the other hand, I'd have a BIG problem with that...

Stupid f**ing idea.  I know, let's put razor wire along the double yellow.  That way 100% of the time a tire hits the double yellow it will result in a serious injury.  You don't even need oncoming traffic.

So, now instead of the occasional idiot who rides over his head and slightly crosses over into my lane and has a chance to correct it, I will have unskilled riders completely losing traction on the rumble strips and careening directly into me.  Does getting a job in government these days actually require removal of your frontal lobes?
