Very good Suppo article

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/166457/1/suppo_hire_the_best_riders_get_the_best_bike.html
someone make this a sticky so we can refer to it when all the knee-jerk assessments start being made...
and his discussion of the psychological aspects is really interesting (biaggi, jorge, the 'best bike', etc)

Another excellent interview:
http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/166485/1/furusawa_reflects_on_eve_of_yamaha_motogp_exit.html
Interesting that Furusawa stepped back from racing in 06/07 and Yamaha failed to win--I never knew that.

Both really good articles. Thanks, guys.
When we were in Valencia in (whenever that was -- a coupla years ago), Suppo came to talk to the Ducati Presidents. Interesting that he said even then that when the recent rounds of contracts came up, he'd take Stoner over Rossi. His rationale was mostly based on age, but still . . .
Furusawa sounds like a complete Rossi fanboy. Not that he's wrong, but it's interesting to see how much those two think of one another. I never realized that relationship was as important until Rossi moved to Ducati.

if you follow suppo's psychological analysis of what makes it possible for these guys to win, jorlameo is already psyching himself out of the season. you can hear him regretting the decision not to go to honda. add in the no title sponsor yet thing, etc. he's already nervous.
funny how even in these few words the difference in him asking the factory for 'progress' and rossi doing the same thing in 2007 are completely different.

But under Suppo's analysis, if The Ben starts stompin' arond on Lorenzo's podium, Jorge should respond, no?

yes, unless he's already unconsciously behind the eight ball no matter what he does b/c he thinks he should be on a honda. i think his bigger fear may be simo. those guys have lots of 250 blood on the ground and now he thinks simo is coming for him on a (factory) honda, a bike that is 'faster than his'. if he decides it's faster, it will be.
and of course the ben will profit from all this bs.
granted, all this commentary is colored by the fact that i think george is a dumbass.

jorlameo
That's pretty weak. I expected better from you.
Yor-ghey or Whine-lenzo are better, even if inapplicable.

FTR, despite the fact that Lorenzo eats corpses, I've decide (at least for now) not to call him any names other than the occasional "George."
