Yes exclusive club indeed!
Almost like they don't want just anyone there on there old Ducati bikes.

So what's the cost in total, not including feeding yourselves?
$600-$700?

So what's the cost in total, not including feeding yourselves?
$600-$700?

Registration fee $395pp
Safety Inspection $55pp (or $107pp if you don't argue)
Accom. as recommended in Canberra $175pn (special rate)
Accom. as recommended in Jindabyne $290pn (smallest, cheapest special rate room)
Accom. as recommended in Albury $178pn (there were some cheaper rooms available but I don't have the details)

So if you have a friend willing to share (and pay the same) you could get away with it for under $860pp ... but the cheap(?!) rooms disappear fastest and realistically some people will be footing the bill for a room to themselves.

Then it is a matter of how you get home (a couple of extra days maybe), food (as mentioned), new set of tyres + any servicing, petrol, fancy dress gear, etc, etc.

Thanks for making me add that up Matty ... I really didn't need to know that.

By comparison ... WDW:
Registration fee $0 (Aussie rate)
Safety Inspection $0 (I can check my own thongs thanks very much)
Accom. in seaside resort including full breakfast approx. $200pn (there were much cheaper options)
Total $400pp for the same period + incidentals.

Maybe it's time to start planning our own exclusive OzMo Turismo? (ride whatever you like, no inspection/registration, fancy dress optional, cheap hotels, smaller group, ride with people who's riding style your familiar with)

Sorry  Embarrassed
Didn't mean to make you think about it before the fun event.
I know the Tourismo woud be great to do.

Yes I do agree Betty, chuck in the job Goldie!
And yes OMADA, we could use the Perisher Lodge as the base as spoken about.

First loop over Khancoban aka Two Dogs favorite haunt.
The Granya road.
And so many more.

Passed the inspection today at Frazers. At first they tried to charge me $68.50 and a bit of an argument ensued until I said in exasperation "Listen, I know Mark and Julie who were here last week and thats what they paid and thats all I'm paying !" and that's what they finally charged me. So thanks guys, I owe you one   waytogo

Roll Eyes After they eventually apologised to us (it took half an hour to sort it) the Boss' parting shot was 'at least you will know for the next one' ... because they claimed we were the first one they had done.

When they agreed I think they meant 'yeah we know next time we will overcharge but not by as much and see what we can get away with this time'.

Is there any wonder they have such a bad reputation?

Once upon a time, members on this forum used to get together regularly and go for a ride. Now it seems that if we want to ride with other Ducatis we have to throw money at NFI.

In the past the people have made it worthwhile ... we'll see how this one goes. It is a good event and generally runs pretty smoothly (on the tour itself) ... they just seem intent on making it difficult and expensive with the ultimate aim of exclusivity.

Ok, then down the track, how would a day ride sound, finishing up "Kariong" way with a fancy dress barby at a well known OZMO couples house, plus sleepover options...     Grin
Rob could fill his backpack with the cooks special tricolore' cupcakes again....... waytogo

We just need to stick a rocket up a few people and get another ride day happening.......  let me have a quiet chat to his majesty MV and see if we can get the ball rolling. Anyone partial to a pie at Robbo...?

Or if anyone else wishes to organise one then feel free to post it up      Whoops......sorry, pardon my thread jacking people....

What Betty said.

And it's accessible to riders from all areas. There's even been overseas riders at each one I've been too. And I mean people from Holland and the US (as well as a few Taswegians).

My Turismo ride starts tomorrow.  Dolph waytogo  On my way to Phillip Island.  Glad the weather is forecast to improve.  They cancelled Superbike School there today as part of the airfence blew onto the track and some of the grandstands blew down.  Shocked Shocked

Lucky it held off for the GP.

See ya in Canberra on Sunday.
