Betty, GP does do full cartridge replacement. See xcaptainxbloodx's posts. He lucked out as they used his forks as the guinea pig for their fully adjustable retrofit and from what I can tell he didn't pay a dime. Also refer to BK_856er's 695. They can be redone! Hard to believe but true. And expensive. For my money though, I'd really rather go SBK w/ TiN.

Bought some 01 TiN units with about 9K miles on them. Had to drill my axle. Fork overall length to the cap was only about 3/4" longer than my stockers, of course all the adjusters add to that. Maybe my bars already had a riser because there was 2 1/2" from my stock caps to the bars. Found a strip of .020" t-321 in the hopper at work already sheared to the correct width. Formed it around the 50 mm of the stockers and got the SBK units set in the lowers no problem. Once I get the upper bored I should be golden. bill

Local retired gent bored my upper for $30, more than happy to flip him a couple of twenties, looked and fit-up great. Set the tube height based on the difference in fully extended length so with the stiffer SBK springs the static height is probably a little higher over my stock already sacked out springs. Cleared the bars with enough room to get a screwdriver on the compression adjustment at an angle. The 2001 SBK units were from Imperial Sportbikes via eBay for $291 including shipping. Selected a set with a little rash but low miles, there were way nicer in person, very happy with Imperial. Phase one complete, will see if I can dial them in with stock internals, stiffer springs will be a plus, I have a bad habit of cutting down the gravel roads at highway speeds. Now I'm thinking 320s w/ 4 piston golds and maybe a rear shock. Thanks for all the help, Bill
