hey all,
any of you know what the interchangeability of handlebar controls might be? i have an 01 m900 and i'd like to pick up both left and right controls but don't know if it would be plug and play with other models, etc. mine are kinda hammered and i'd like to get a decent set. any ideas or experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to research it, then I got lazy, then I forgot.
All the Monster switches (regardless of displacement) are identical from their introduction up through your year of bike. So any 01 or older switch should work.

In short: they're different (mainly the connector).
Buuuuuut, with a little work you can use them. I bought a left switch off an 05 Monster for my 2001 M750 on ebay (cheapest one in good condition I could find).
I used the old connector and wires from my bike with the new switch. I basically un-soldered each wire from both switches and then attached the old wires to the new switch. It wasn't difficult, it was just a little time consuming to get right.
There are other ways of doing this: cutting the wires and then re-connecting them; or buying an old connector and attaching it; or ... whatever you can think of

if you can score a LH euro switch set, you are really in business - you can turn the lights off, park, on. too bad they have been discontinued - the superseded part # is just the regular stock one that came on the US models! phooey.

oh, and the K&L switches shown on CA-Cycleworks website are nice - they aren't plug-n-go, but the right-hand side is pretty damn close to it.

It's a right hand switch btw that has the option to turn the lights off. And it probably will require adding a few wires (it did in the case of my 07' s4r)

Not the OEM Ducati Euro one for the m900 era - definitely a lh switch w normal high/lo beams, turn, flasher, horn, and normal wiring plug - complete plug-n-play - I got two of em, one on each 1999 :-D
With the K&L rh switch I got, it does run/kill and start - 4 wires, match 'em to the ones from old switch and use it's plug connector, or do the bullet crimp ones included, or posi-locks. Wire colors aren't the same but nbd.

Hmmm...I can't find any bar switches on CA-Cycleworks website. Searched for "K&L," "switches," perused electrical, etc.

Wait, maybe it's K&S.
Nope. I've searched every section of their site, and I can find no switches.
