I recently upgraded the suspension on my S2R 800 with Ohlins.  Here is the result:

30mm cartridge kit

TTX rear shock

Man, what an improvement!

Well...everything was custom.  The TTX shock is a universal piece made to fit the bike.  Originally, it was going to go the other way around, however, the reservoir didn't clear the swingarm.  Soooo, we flipped it since you can mount the TTX however it fits!  The forks were sent to Ohlins to have the caps made and the cartridges installed.  Not sure why people are so hard on the 30mm kit.  It is incredible.  Dialing everything in wasn't difficult at all.  A really great experience and unreal end result.  If you're interested, I can provide you the contact info.  I dealt with Ohlins directly since it was a completely custom project.  Pricing wasn't obscene either.

If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll send you the contact info.  It was through Ohlins road and track.

Sure...what would you like to see?  Yeah...not obscene and not gonna post prices here.  If you're considering suspension upgrades, this is THE way to go and I will be happy to provide the contact info.  I have no affiliation other than being thrilled with the improvement.

So are those stock forks fully adjustable now?  what work exactly did they do to the forks?  I just spent 3 months looking for some S2R1000 forks.  I had to buy one left fork with 8100 miles from a salvage shop in Florida and bought another pair from BlackCat with a damaged left fork bottom that I have to swap out for the other pair.  And that pair for some reason has gold colored fork bottoms.  The single left fork has silver colored fork bottoms, so i don't know what I'm going to do about that.  Seems like just contacting Ohlins was the simplest most direct way to go about things, but I hadn't read anything on the DMF about a direct Ohlins upgrade to the stock S2R800 forks with adjustability.  Everyone is posting up about swap this, swap that, with no plug and play options available.  Am I missing something?  I did however pick up a Bitubo Rear spring that was custom built to my specs and riding style that was pretty easy to pull the trigger on.  I'm gonna ride on my stock suspension for a month and then do the installation so I can really get a feel for the difference.  Can you PM me with the price so I can compare?

Yup...completely stock S2R 800 Marzocchi forks.  They had to make a top cap along with some other work.  Preload, compression, and rebound adjustable.  Compression in left leg, Rebound in right.

I wanted to see some more angles of both the forks and the shock, that's all. I'm curious as to how you got the shock in there without having to modify the frame. Piggyback shocks and S2Rs don't go together very well.

Guys- GP Suspension in Portland, OR has been doing this same exact thing for a while now. It's good to know there's the Öhlins option though!

My concern is how would they stack up against a good old set of Showa SBKs. And I wonder if Öhlins can anodize the fork tubes.

Anyway it's good to see.
