Hey! There might be a discussion about this already, so excuse me if there is. I am trying to find a seat that will fit a 2010 monster 1100s that will be a little lower. I have heard somewhere there might be something that is around 20mm lower. Do any of you know a direction to point me? Thanks in advance for any help!

THis is he only one thats lower, but the new 796 stock seat is said to have a slightly different shape. not sure if it's lower, but a bit more flat if I remember from other conversations.
might want to check ebay. if you can get one cheap might be worth a shot.
another option is to have yours custom remade.
also corbin and sergeant make a seat for the bike that can be custom ordered.

or try spencers seat mods, and ask him to lower the seat for you... as long as you ask, he'll do it for free along with the comfort mods http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.phpprob your cheapest option

the corbin seat does not lower it, in fact since its loosely based on a cafe racer seat it raises the seat height significantly.

The new 796/1100 evo seat isn't necessarily lower but is way more comfortable because it holds you away from the tank. It's $170 from a dealer, I just bought one but it takes two weeks to arrive.

I bought the low seat 2 weeks ago for my 696 and I love it. I'm 6ft tall and the seat gives me a better riding position, and I no longer sit nut to tank.

Has anyone tried both the touring and the low seat? I'm debating which one to get right now. Looks and comfort are both important.

is the low seat waterproof? I think I heard it soaks water. The touring is definitely water proof.

The DP low seat is definitely not waterproof. It is covered with a velour material that is grippy. Very nice feeling, though: locks you in place and the deep dish definitely keeps the privates away from the tank. My only objection is that mine is wearing at the points where my legs grip the tank, and for long freeway drones my hips will act up because of the reduced clearance between butt and footpegs. I also have a Corbin saddle, which is at the stock height but MUCH nicer. Very attractive seat, and pretty comfortable. I think I will get it modified however (free of charge as long as they don't have to restitch anything) to put more of the DP low seat "dish" in it.
