Painted rear brake caliper on a 696

Did a little experimenting with automotive caliper paint.  This is supposed to be satin but it looks pretty glossy to me...

This was easyish, the brush it came with fell apart after this paint job.  It goes on watery and looks like it wont cover but it dries up nicely.  Took about 10 minutes including the cleaning.

 Are those the original tires? if so, how many miles on them?

Thats my fourth rear tire, she has 24k miles on her.  This last one has lasted a long time (6.5k) for some reason, normally I get to about 5.5k when the steel starts to show.  Its also a 170/60R17 size tire.

On average, I've replaced the rear at or around 6k.

Did you remove the calipers to paint them?  If so, how?  I was looking at painting the brembo logo on both front and back.  Thinking its easier to take it off the bike to paint but not sure how involved it is to take it off the bike.

No I did not remove it to paint but I have removed it in the past.  Super easy, just two bolts.  Disconnecting the brake line is a whole other matter since you have to drain, then refill and bleed the system.  There is enough slack to paint both sides but it wont be super easy, easier I think than disconnecting the brake line.

you have an early 696 with the grey swingarm. looks even more grey against that caliper.

ever thought about getting the swingarm powdercoated satin to match the rims?

Also, the caliper mounting bracking looks better black as well

Great suggestion.  I would love to PC the swingarm, looks crappy to me but I dont have the tools to take it off nor a good place to keep the bike while it's PC'ed.  The joys of apartment living....

i found a local shop that let me use a lift if i did all the work myself.
maybe you know a local wrench that would be so kind.
