I went to Cooperstown in 2009 to see Rickey Henderson inducted.
While there, I literally bumped into Yogi Berra, he was having lunch at the same place I was. There were baseball greats EVERYWHERE. Willy Mays, Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, even Pete Rose was in town signing autographs even though he couldnt attend the ceremony.

As far as random places/things most people haven't seen in person, my 2 favorites are Niagara Falls & Prairie Dog Town in Oakley, KS., home of the world's largest prairie dog :D

pure. adrenaline. *snort* heh heh weeeeee!

Timmy Tucker

Know the Statler Brothers. Mostly douchebags with the exception of Lew Dewitt (RIP) and Jimmy Fortune. Jimmy is one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever known. Jimmy invited me and my bass player to come jam with him and Carter Beauford (drummer from DMB) at his studio once. Couldn't get away from work, goddammit.  :'( :'( :'(

I'll play!

I've met Alonzo mourning, David Batista (he happened to come in the nutrition store I worked at), Justin Timberlake and Timberland at Gold's Gym, Kosei Inoue at a Judo Seminar (Olympic Gold Medalist), most of the Redskins, and Halle Berry (USO event).

Chatted with Charlie Hunter at the bar after one of his shows here a few years ago. Really nice guy. He (and the drummer) signed my CD.

Went on a moto ride with Alonzo Bodden (comedian) a couple years ago, and we've emailed about my Multi re-build a few times (he was doing something similar to his). Another really nice guy.

Saw Howie Long at the Vegas airport a few years ago. Very large guy.

Nikki Sixx was sitting in 1st class on my flight from Seattle to SF last weekend. He appears to be stuck in the 80s.  [laugh] Living the rockstar life though, so  [beer]

One of my female co-workers is friends (and in a knitting club...crazy rockstar wives!) with Matt Cameron's wife. Still trying to get some Pearl Jam tickets from that connection.  ;D

I built a really cool Monster back in '03-'04.  Won some stuff for that effort.

Have met and partied with MANY, MANY of the DMF'ers...

Got an exceedingly welcoming smile from Gina Davis.

Turned down doing free work on Queen Latifah's Hummer H2.

I've saved someone's life.

Met Jay Leno 3 times, he remembered who I was the 2nd and 3rd times.  [thumbsup]

Had a car on 4 wheels, 3 wheels, 2 wheels, 1 wheel and NO wheels.

Had a bike on 2 wheels, front wheel, rear wheel, NO wheels.

Done a 100+mph wheelie unintentionally...  :o

Got a compliment from my favorite artist about one of my motorcycles.  (My Dad, before he passed)

Partied with a friend who had partied with Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin personally.

Saw the ill-fated G N R / Metallica double bill tour.

I've drag raced at the now defunct Detroit Dragway.

Seen the Tragically Hip 5 times and counting.....

Get to hear 'I Love You's from my daughter now on a regular basis!  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

I wish I could be my friend for the purposes of this thread - he has been punched in the face by Glen Danzig and personally insulted by David Foster Wallace.

I obviously need an interesting life. [bang] My claim to fame in regards to this board is chatting up Fast Freddie Spencer at an AMA SBK race in of all places the Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX maybe 20 years ago in 1991 when he raced RC30s for Two Bros. Racing. That was the one and only time that tour went to TWS. Had fun talking with Fast Freddie about watching him when he was a kid road racing production RD Yammyhammers at Dallas Int'l. Motor Speedway in Lewisville, TX. The track is long since gone but the memory of his Dad holding him up on the grid because he was too short to do it himself will live on forever. Even got a letter to Motorcyclist magazine printed last year re-telling that same story about Fast Freddie. Good times for sure and it seemed Freddie really liked talking about those old childhood racing memories. We held up the line of autograph seakers for quite a while talking about the DIMS races when he was a kid. [thumbsup] [moto] Got my signed TBR/Freddie Spencer poster framed and hanging over my roll away toolbox in my garage as I type this! ;D
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Well, no.  But I did give towels to Kenny Rogers wife when I was working as a Bellhop. She answered the door in a bath robe. Does that count for anything?
