So I was going to go 14/46 as I read that was a popular ratio for the 620 but in talking to Jeff at Monster Parts he recommended I go with 14/48.  Stock on a 2005 620 is 15/48. I'm not enough of a "gear head" the difference so I rely on other peoples expertise.

 I havent installed the sprockets yet so I could return the rear for something else if someone gives me a good reason to go with a different size for the rear. I'm regular casual rider with mostly suburban/city, farm roads and some highway. No track days here.

Thoughts?

ahh...did not know the rear of 620 is 46 stock...my 750 is 15/41 stock

14/48 should give you less top end but a nice bump in oomph at lower-mid range speeds.
Sounds like a good plan.

14/48 is definitely the way to go on a 6-speed 620.  waytogo
I've had stock 15/48, then -1 front 14/48, then +3 rear 15/51, over the past 25 thousand miles. 14/48 is the best.

^^^^^  I like the tank bag. I have a Nelson-Riggs tank bag, but I can't seem to come up with a decent mounting system for my 07 S2R 1000 plastic tank.

Does your bag mount to the stock fuel cap?

Is it a secure mounting system?

Is it easy to install and remove?

Yea, I love the bag and it took me a while to find exactly what I wanted.

Does your bag mount to the stock fuel cap? Yes, it uses a ring that mounts to the stock fuel cap.

Is it a secure mounting system?  Yes, very secure.  I put three quarts of oil in it and the bag never wiggled.  It has a solid mount plate on the bottom of the bag and the bag never contacts the tank.

Is it easy to install and remove?  Yes.  It has a simple pull cord that releases 4 locks that secure the bag to the ring.

 Nope. tourer for me and the wife.  she hates the monster seat size and new rear sets.

Total impulse buy. We had been talking about a touring bike for awhile (since I stuck her on the monster with a backback to Italy and back). I had to pick up a part for the Monster today and at the shop there was this silver 98-build, 99 model year, ST2, pristine and stock (minus a smoked touring screen) with only 12,500 miles on the clock. newish tires, all services done, with hard bags. Wasn't prepared to put money into a bike (since kids want dirt bikes) but she said, "want it?" what was I supposed to say?  Grin

Anyway, enough thread jack..

oh did buy a cam cover seal and brake banjo bolt. oh and key chain for the ST.

Just fitted a project r clear lens head light and hid bulb to the duc nice piece of kit and great projection.
