i found that hand pump vacuum to be a terrible waste of time. thankfully they're not too pricey. i'm not saying this to be a dick. it's just that i bought one 6 months ago. it results in a mess, it doesn't hold the vacuum all that well, and it adds pumping with your hand to an operation that could already benefit from having 3 hands without the pump.

i got good at the old school method, and in worst case scenarios, raising your nipple so it's the highest point. anyway, i hope you have better luck than i did. bleeding sucks, but that pump doesn't, but it does, but it doesn't..... i'm hilarious

I've used a Mityvac for years and I completely disagree.

For every piece of gear or maintenance item, there will be those who love it and those who hate it and both camps will cite reasons/experiences.

I'm shopping looking at both. I know the the speedymoto doesn't have any logic on when it flashes and when it doesn't. I also know they don't have any smoke lenses in stock Cheesy. I would love to see a side by side brightness comparison!

The Motodynamics for first gen Monsters are junk IME and in the case of most ppl I know. After nothing but probs I bought a $30 Chinese eBay version and it's been problem free for 2 years.

The SupaNova looks bright as all hell based on the YouTube vids I saw for it.

I've been wanting the Vizi-Tec HSi forever and as a result of a parking spot tip-over Angry, I had a little extra insurance $ to put towards the light instead of replacing an otherwise functional Rizoma mirror that just suffered some minor scuffs, nothing a sharpie couldn't fix. Either way this light is awesome and worth every penny. I never looked into other LED tail light setups because I knew this one is the one I wanted. I like having turn signals so having integrated ambers wasn't a feature that I needed.

I guess the main thing that sold me on this light was the fact that you can adjust it to what brightness you want, low, medium, and "get off my 6 or I'll keep blinding you" - high. For normal daytime use I keep it on the default medium. Haven't really ridden at night yet to use the low setting.

The other thing I liked about this light was the SupaBrake Algorithm. It doesn't just flash 3 times every time you hit the brakes. It knows when and how to flash depending on the time that's passed between hitting the brakes. Why do I like this? So if I'm stuck in stop-and-go traffic, I don't get the "flash-flash-flash-solid" all the time. You also get more modulation as time increases between hitting the brakes. But I think deep down, I got it mainly because it's freakin' bright. I don't think I'll be using it on the high setting, but I like having it there if I want to use it. It also has a "force-flash" feature where if you hold the brake for 3 seconds, release and hit the brakes again (within .5 second), you'll get a burst of flashes.

Overall, I couldn't be happier. I commute daily and I know this light is getting more attention over the stock light. Thanks Vizi-Tec and a shout out to Bernard for making a kick-ass product!

An aluminum nut for the fuel level sensor.  The cheapo plastic one on my 2000 Monster 900 with about 7K miles was cracking around its circumfrence, the result of using a plastic nut in a relatively high torque setting.  Aluminum or some other metal should have been used from the start.

Kind of a PITA to change but would have been easier if I had realized you have to disassemble the 4 pin electrical connector that connects the sensor to the wiring loom to slip the old nut off and the new nut on.  You DO NOT have to remove the wires inside the tank.  The factor and Haynes manuals do not address this specific issue--only changing out the entire sensor.  That was a lot of PITA work that I did not have to do.  I was a bit stumped so called the guys at Moto Forza in Escondido and they explained how you can disassemble the connector.  Now, Ducati could have used a different connector than a four in a row to make this job oh so simple.  Freaking engineers!

Thanks, some good options to think about.  I had the MD light on my 796, nary a problem or issue until the bike got smashed.  Was going to get one for the S2R, guess now I will debate if the fancy flashing setup is worth the extra ducats.

Just installed Kriega Rack loops. When I used the Kriega bags on my seat and strapped to the frame, the bags moved around a lot. I also wasn't able to take off my seat without unloading everything. Now that's not an issue. On top of that, non-slip pad with a bungee net and I'll be able to carry 12 packs of beer.

I wouldn't have done it if the fit and finish wasn't as top notch as it is.
