Well, more for me than the bike.  This was my xmas present this year.   Grin  Arai Defiant.  Supposed to be awesome for naked bikes with the new venting scheme and chin spoiler.  Can't wait to test it out!

Scored an 1198 swingarm (complete w/brake, adj. height rod, suspension rocker & speedo sensor) and an Ohlins shock for the 848 build.

Got it all for the price of the swingarm, hub & spindle.

Cortech Tailpack and some tank skinz.  Got tired of racking my junk and having no place to put my junk.

Let us know how those 1730's perform Seanster...I like that low profile, no more tank squash.

The Shorai 14 is so freaking small  Evil
yeah i'll let you know when i get it fited.  I check the height (on paper) that it's half size (or 2in) shorter than the RU-1750 we usually use.  I'm not sure smaller pods will have effect on air flow but time will tells when i dyno it.

on another topic:  just picked up a Factory Pro Jet Kit, SSS stand, and the 996 rear tail piece...starting to come together.  Some pics:

Tank Skinz and a DP tail bag.  Love the Skinz they help a lot!  The DP bag is overpriced but with zero passenger pegs on my bike I got tired of dinking around with aftermarket stuff.

Kinda funny but after wrestling the lower portion of the bag onto the bike and getting the seat cowl screws tight I went to zip on the top piece.  No bueno.  Somehow the quality control folks missed the zipper being sewed under one of the side pockets.  I went back into A&S and Kirk came out with a sharp razor blade and we carefully cut the zipper loose.  He is gonna order me a new bag as the pocket will eventually work loose.  Nice though in that I still have a bag for the ride this week.

Heading out to ride PCH for a couple of days of 70+ riding weather.

Some people don't like the looks of that tail bag, butt it works really well and is (usually) well made.

I hate the DP bag......  But it fits.  I was just out in the garage getting ready for the trip tomorrow and noticed that it is going to fail in a couple of spots.  The carry handle will pull apart the seams sooner or later as it is sewn in manner that places all the stress of the load on a one inch seam.  Also the seat to bag zipper is already showing pulled stitches under serious stress, they will fail as well.

Toss in no interior pockets whatsoever (Most $100.00 bags have them), zippers that dangle and an mounting angle that when expanded, leaves the bag tapping me in the back.

It is not made well or smart.  The idea is great as I don't have anything in the rear to strap most tail packs to.  The lack of thought into the design and the longevity of the seams is pathetic at best.

I think I am gonna give it back and buy two SWMotech click loc tank bags.  One large for two nights out and one small for day tripping.
