Just booked into our hotel, the Boss flicks on the tele and there is an ad for World Ducati Week ... maybe we should go check it out.

Naah, not worth the effort.  Metro had a caliper in much better condition for $80. Those guys are awesome. I've also ordered a seal kit and new rubber bits from Honda, and will swap the newish pistons across from the other one.

How many k's has it got on it? I've found it well worthwhile to replace the pins the sliding calier slides on at ~100k km on both of mine. They were both quite corroded and beat up, and putting new ones in gave much better feel to the brakes…

Kristyn's one is a baby, at just 60,000km.  I don't think the donor bike was anywhere near that, comparing the calipers.

In any case, with a master rebuild, caliper rebuild, new braided brake line, sintered pads and new rotor, the brakes are now "epic". That's good, right?

Oh, and she's got a new pipe, too, that makes it sound better than my duc.

Suzyj, I've installed DP sintered brake pads and although I've only put about 200 kays (I blame it on this lousy weather) on them I am truely impressed by the response that they have given me, they are made by Dunlop in England and I believe the Spada's brake pads are DP106, not cheap, but very good.

Hmmm.

They serve an aperitif before dinner ... so obviously 'someone' ends up with two. Of course the local vino rosso is ordered by the litre ... and then they plonk down (pun intended) a couple of limoncello shots as a digestive ... again 'someone' gets two.

Naturally we find ourselves at the local pub as the Azzurri take on the Irish.

Just back from the first night's beach party.

More bloody 1199s than you could poke a stick at. Oh and apparently t-shirt and shorts is the most appropriate riding attire. Also good to repeatedly find the rev limiter in the driveway ... especially if you are riding a diavel.

Spent some time out at the circuit today ... there were a few bikes there. Saw some anorexic girls (with mods I am reliably informed) getting ready to was bikes, but it was all a bit too sad for me to watch. Sorry.

We have met some Kiwis, some Aussies, former Aussies and even some DMF members plus some Dutch bloke called Al.

Oh and it's hot ... damn hot ... 40+ degrees. Time for a swim I reckon.
