Uh-oh ... what's going on here?

« Reply #2880 on: December 30, 2014, 02:47:35 PM »

I headed out for lunch yesterday ... down to PITS ... and I noticed a few things on the Old Road:
  • fewer bikes than usual - still quite a few but not huge numbers (double de-merits and all that)
  • a few more cars than usual - to be expected in the holiday season
  • only one car with a little curly tail - less than I expected (but there could have been more in disguise)
  • very few bikers willing to return a 'head nod' ... I only counted two. Is this gesture now uncool ... or is just me?

Brian I tend to disagree  boo
Seems at the old head nod is becoming quite rare .

On a brighter note I have had a couple of really nice runs out to West head with no traffic or Corporal Curly tails
Christmas day was a cracker , went out just before lunch and had the road to myself and then last night with
the "cheese and kisses" and empty again cept for a fellow Monster rider with what must be a new to him S2R1000
taking photos of it on the side of the road , should of stopped and introduced ourselves we gave echoer the wave but
Was to pre occupied with the empty road  Dolph Evil.

Have a safe n happy NYE all . Shots Shots Shots Shots

lots of "head nodders" down south. Notable exceptions being the Bad Boys In Black who seem to be preoccupied with keeping their American Iron on the road.

Just opened up the new issue of Australian MCN and there is a letter about visor fines being cancelled due to
"no specific written law regarding visors" .
This is in VIctoria not sure if is National but apparently when they issued fines it was related to non ADR helmet's and the letter
states challenge any fine as the helmet was never the issue as in all cases was compliant .
I wonder how long it will take for the powers that be too amend the law to encompass visor's so they can steal more money from us?
This apparently in Victoria is a real bone of contention especially when a motorcycle mounted policeman is booking you for a tinted visor while wearing a police issued reflective visor himself.
Talk about double standards.
Anyone know if this is also the case in other states ? it would be an enjoyable conversation with Mr plod when you state you will challenge it in court as there is no specific law regarding visors and my helmet complies .....cunstable......sir.

Please someone tell me this is the situation here so I can stop wearing my annoying $10 servo sunnies under my ADR clear visor and go back to my agv made Euro tested iridium visor.

I can cop it if I am caught riding at night with a tinted visor , that is just my own bad time management and understand its dangers for impaired night vision , but in bright summer sun come on really ?
Hay here is a thought is it illegal to drive a car at night with tinted glasses/sunnies/transition lenses on ?
If there is not a written law then why are we targeted for it?
Questions that need to be answered.

I didn't realize you could be booked for wearing a tinted visor or a non standard, aftermarket visor ?

Last Friday was the most amazing day out - normally us Adelaide Monster riders are a loner breed, but last Friday I saw 6 different types of Monsters out and about!! I would be lucky to see that all year!  Must be a conspiracy..... Cool
