How is it George?
Going well thanks. I'm looking forward to a front suspension upgrade (hopefully next week) and then a good ride with the brother.
The cherry blossoms are flowering down under, so Spring is on her way. Will still be cold, but there are some nice and sunny riding days coming up.

Some changes my way. Im closing the shop. Going to renovate and rent out the building.
Selling the monster. Hopefully the next bike will be an F650 or even an F800.
Just bought a 1986 Mercedes 380SL. Its a nice looking thing. Pretty gutless though. But did I mention it was nice looking?

On the contrary, I'm going just as far as I need to. With popular support I might add. Just not yours. Or that of your previously dominating clique.

There you go. Making assumptions.
Resign? I dont think so. The reason I was put here was as a local, an Aussie who understands and who will moderate - and that's all it is, applying a little moderation - without fear or favour. Spelled with a make the beast with two backsing "u".

Hi Rob.
Just wondering mate, if Oz Monsters needs to be revived, what do you think put it on its deathbed in the first place ? Unge has been a mod for about like three days, so what do you think has happened over the last few years that we need to revive it ?

Spot on.
It's why I and others have stayed away as it seemed like a closed shop. Felt more at home with the Northern hemispherians and they sure as hell were more inclusive. Looks like the place could use a moderator. Ozmonsters is part of the DMF and the DMF has a certain structure to play within. Hanging out with the internationals showed me just how much scope we are given, which is a fair bit. If people dont like it then there are other forums. Internet warriors should be called out, it doesn't take much guts to be a keyboard warrior.

Interesting. I have always found it interesting that a few Victorians have quite a few posts to their name and not so many in Ozmo-land ... I actually found it a bit disappointing in the past. Part of the reason I suspect that Unge was appointed Moderator was because our founding fathers know him better than rest of us - because of his exploits elsewhere on the board.
But as I stated in reply to a PM I received today (and Ducpainter has now confirmed elsewhere) we haven't needed a Moderator for years. There have been a couple of posts recently which, I think it is fair to say, are not really appropriate anywhere ... posts which I believe have since been removed so some of you may be missing a bit context. Personally I think they did warrant some sort of intervention.
Now 'we' have drawn attention to ourselves and 'we' seem determined to keep ourselves in the crosshairs. Time to stop inflaming the situation ... take a step back, calm down and hopefully moderating will become irrelevant once more. Initially I was surprised that Ducpainter had locked this thread, but now the worst posts seem to have been removed it is open again ... that approach seems sensible.

I don't think that that has ever really been the case but as I posted earlier I can understand why people stay away. To be honest when some of the posters get a bit carried away I think it is because they are bored ... with not much happening around here - this might be on the incorrect assumption that nobody else is looking (in a way it is self-perpetuating).
