I tell ya you have to be really careful with these new cameras. They've changed the old red light cameras out so that they now not only detect people traveling through red lights ( a good thing in my opinion) but do speeding as well. All of a sudden there are a lot of new cameras to slow down for! I never went through red lights so I didn't have to think about these before but I'm sure I speed through intersection on greens.

Or more importantly speeding through on the amber ... its a natural instinct if you are in or approaching the intersection when they go amber - you involuntarily/imperceptibly increase your speed (especially on the bike where self-preservation is an instinctual priority). Or maybe just WOT Now they are actually adding more doubt in the minds of motorists ... and indecision could be disastrous.

Walking across the deck framing the other day, I slipped and smashed my shin against one of the longitudinals Jeeze it hurt. I limped back to the control room and continued my cargo watch. It was a bit sore for a few days, but I though nothing of it. 4 days later, I woke up and my ankle was swollen and bruised black and blue It actually looked like it was broken, so I was sent to the hospital to get x-rays. On the way there, I was thinking: "If I've been walking around on a broken leg, it can only be a hair-line fracture." "I wonder if they'll put my leg in plaster?" "It's my right leg - only the rear brake..." "If I get sent home, I can make Turismo" "I'll just cut the plaster off and ride anyway" Unfortunately there was no fracture - so I'm still at work...

I don't really see a lot wrong with your thought processes, but smashing your shin on an imaginary line that circles the globe? You are a little desparate aren't you?

Betty, Dave is desperately wanting to be at Turismo so he meet us all of course. Dave you will have to try much harder than that. You've still got two weeks although some may get suspicious if you keep beating up on yourself. No wonder they run dry ships if you sailors can't even stay upright sober! (oh by the way - hope it's better now. )

Don't worry H, I'm not on a dry ship. They would have to pay us more for that Occasionally I'll have a couple after watch, and more often than not, I'll have quite a few up the road in Cairns. My sobriety is self inflicted, tomorrow will be two weeks. My record is 12 weeks. I don't feel the need to break that record... ever Oh dear - all these beer emoticons are making me thirsty...
