I thought I might throw this out there to see if anyone may be interested
If so we should start a new thread.

Weekend (extended) coffee ride on the 15 Th of October to PHILLIP ISLAND for the GP.

The Missus and I are playing around with the idea of a  bow down pilgrimage  bow down to the Island bacon.

We have not purchased tickets yet and have yet to decide about camping or not.
Me thinking renting a house off the Island may be more comfortable/cost effective  and befitting the high standard
Monster owners are more accustomed too  Grin
especially in the event of Brian going and the higher than normal chance of inclemency   laughingdp
sharing costs and at least getting away from the drunken riff raff around the campsites
oh hang on that's us   drink chug  vomit laughingdp

So for the journey if anyone has a route that is more interesting than highway please throw your
knowledge and map into the suggestion box.
I am thinking two days of riding down there ,with camping if the weather is good, Pub's if not.

Not set in stone yet just a whiff of an idea ,
we have to clear children/pets and job constraints before
we commit .

I have emailed a real estate in San Remo (just over the bridge) with request for availability and prices
as the Island is already pretty heavily booked.

A friend of mine recently had his ducati rebuilt and a new exactfit timing belt fitted. Less than 500kms later bike seizes and mechanic who fixed the bike said the belt had failed and all the notches were stripped off. Would this be covered by some kind of warranty from belt manufacturer?

Hey Macca that sounds a bit sus to me . Shocked
More than likely poor valve cam rocker assembly, ie dropping a valve buy the collets not seated, rocker arm moved from position locating clip moved, seized cam?
If it was only the belt had stripped you will only have a few bent valves?
But that can be easily proved buy an independent mechanic.
Or buy some one that know what they are looking at.
You might best to start a new thread on this more people might see it and or on the main forum Wink

They put these in racing yachts to keep the weight down, average cost for a custom built one is about $10,000

Well the original battery finally died on the DS, so I got one from these people and also a charger, a CTEK XS800 which is a pissa!?

The battery delivered, ( Yuasa ) was cheaper than quoted by local shops by anything from $20-$35 over the counter, and the charger was on special apparently. waytogo

Have a look at www.batteriesdirect.com.au for your needs.

Here is a Vid for the CTEK range of chargers.
